Code of Conduct
RINSE! is built on a foundation of radical inclusivity, communal effort, and mutual respect. We believe that true self-expression flourishes best in an environment where safety and dignity are upheld.
To ensure our event remains a welcoming and creatively vibrant canvas for everyone, all attendees, volunteers, artists, and organizers are required to agree to and uphold this Code of Conduct.
Expected Behavior
- Respect & Inclusivity: Treat yourself, your fellow participants, and the local community with kindness, dignity, and a spirit of radical inclusion.
- Enthusiastic Consent: We are a consent-forward community. Consent must be clear, enthusiastic, and ongoing for any physical contact, photography, or gifting. If it’s not an enthusiastic "yes," it’s a "no." Speak up if you see something questionable.
- Leave No Trace: Protect the land we gather on. You are solely responsible for all your belongings, camp infrastructure, and trash. If you bring it in, you must pack it out.
- Fire & Land Safety: Protect the environment by following all fire safety rules, smoking only in designated areas, and staying within the permitted event boundaries.
- Supervise Minors: If you are bringing children (16 and under), they remain your responsibility and must be supervised at all times.
- Leave the following at home: Firearms or other weapons, fireworks, firewood, large speakers (unless you are a registered sound camp), drones, tiki torches, charcoal grills, burn barrels, high-intensity lasers, illegal drugs or paraphernalia, covert recording devices, and anything else that may put our community at risk
Unacceptable Behavior
We have a strict non-discrimination and non-harassment policy. Engaging in the following behaviors will not be tolerated:
- Harassment & Discrimination: No ableism, homophobia, racism, sexism, transphobia, or hate speech of any kind. We do not tolerate sexual, physical, or verbal harassment in physical or digital spaces.
- Violence & Intimidation: No physical violence, deliberate intimidation, stalking, or threats of harm.
- Theft & Vandalism: Do not steal, damage, or disrespect the property, artwork, or theme camps of others.
- Recklessness: Breaking fire safety rules or ignoring site boundaries endangers the entire event.
- Covert Recording: Including surveillance wearables such as Meta RayBans and similar devices.
Reporting Procedures
We are dedicated to providing a safe experience for everyone. If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any safety concerns:
- Intervene Safely: Feel empowered to practice bystander intervention only when it is safe to do so.
- Find Staff: Contact a Rinse Ranger, Security, or a member of the Core Event Staff immediately. You can identify them by their radios, staff lanyards, or designated volunteer shirts. Staff will help you contact local authorities, provide escorts, or offer a safe space.
- Reach Out Digitally: You can also report issues after the event by emailing our leadership team directly at producers@rinseoregon.com
Consequences
Participants asked to stop any concerning behavior are expected to comply immediately.
- Minor Violations: May result in one—and only one—warning.
- Serious Violations: Major violations, or a failure to comply with a warning, will result in immediate expulsion from the event with no refund, and possible banning from future Rinse events. All incidents will be recorded by event staff.
By purchasing a ticket and entering RINSE!, you agree to adhere to these guidelines and co-create a safe, respectful environment for all.
